Coming over from Sweden in 1900, his ship hit an iceberg and he was saved. He made his money by manufacturing Amykos, a "snake oil" popular with Scandanavians. And in 1914, he sold the store to Annie's niece, Catherine Devno. The photo Annie took of her outside the store is our first poster, at Harlan Barbershop on Central St.
